KINEJO
FESTIVAL

Manifesto
Kinejo Festival is a space dedicated to experimental cinema in all its forms. It was born from the urgency to create an inclusive, horizontal context, open to a plurality of visions. Here, different languages coexist: video art, animation, documentary, fragmented narratives, and hybrid forms. There are no models to replicate, no structures to follow. The only principle is a departure from what is already expected. Kinejo rejects aesthetic centrality and cultural hierarchies. It embraces what escapes, disrupts, and deviates.
Program
The Kinejo Festival will take place on September 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2025. September 24th will be dedicated to independent publishing and craftsmanship, featuring exhibition booths by local artists. The 25th and 26th will focus on screenings: in the afternoons, films and shorts out of competition will be shown, while the evenings will showcase the selected shorts competing in the festival. On the 26th, two awards will be presented: the Jury Prize and the Audience Award, with a total prize pool of 1,000 euros. The festival will have an underground and informal spirit; our goal is to create an environment where the ideas, personalities, and styles of the authors can freely emerge.
Venue
The venue for the Kinejo Festival will be the deconsecrated Church of San Francesco (Velletri, RM). All festival events will take place here. We chose this location in collaboration with the Municipality of Velletri because of its evocative features and its uniqueness as a setting for a film festival.
